Have you ever wondered if you have awoken? Do you feel as though you are enlightened? I will be discussing the different traits of remembering for the beginner. These traits are not in any order but do all exist and are important to experience. There are stages one goes through on this journey of awakening or remembering. Before I begin, I want you to remember one thing first and foremost. This is your journey and everyone’s journey is different. There is no right or wrong way to be or to experience. This is “your” journey so make the most of it.
Spiritual vs Religion
I want you for a minute to relax and think about which you think you are prior to reading further. Would you call yourself spiritual or religious? Being spiritual means that you can cultivate the spirit through the subconscious. Spirituality does not mean that one is religious. Let’s begin by separating the two.
Let us look at what being spiritual means. Spirituality is an inward focus practice. One must look to the inside first and then work outwardly. This is a directly driven experience. What that mean is that you are the driver of your own journey. One must experience it to know it or feel it. There are no set rules in spirituality. Everything you feel or know while on your journey of enlightenment transcends through the experience. There are different states of consciousness you will experience. You will notice that there is a personal sovernty which is “within the heart”. One must stand on their own in their own experience to awaken to their personal power. This journey is based solely on love, unconditional love.
On the other hand, religion is an outward focused action. One starts with exposure to practices from the outside coming inwardly to belief. There are definitely rules, and these rules are created by others or books. While young, you are led to believe things, and those truths are from others and you take on those truths. These rules and truths are based on faith. These rules “commandments” begin to take you out of your personal sovernty as if we are all sheep following the same rules and the same life. We all have choices we make in our lives and feel saddened when we think we are not religious if we don’t follow the same visions of those before us.
Beginners Mind Set
The beginner has the ability to see things as if they are being seen for the very first time. This does require awareness. Try to see things differently than the way you are expected to see them. Constantly learn new things rather than to know what there is and what has been taught to you. Seek out new information. Don’t hold onto the beliefs you know or have been taught, but be open minded reviewing the new and listen to your inner self.
Curiosity About Life
When your journey begins you will begin to constantly look for new things in your world. You will ask questions about everything. You will feel as if you have a sense of wonder about you. The further you learn about your journey, the more you will want to know; and will look for more information about it.
During this period, one must learn the art of surrendering. This I feel was the hardest for myself. I was a bit of a control synasizm regarding my internal world. No matter what happens to you, good, bad, challenging, learn to say yes. I know this seems strange to you, it was for me. Saying to life “yes” no matter what the experience, shows that you trust that what has happened or coming is without cynicism. Now that the universe loves you and that it is not punishing you. You are being taken care of and you are learning from each situation you encounter. It seems like the more we fight it, the more comes and longer it stays. Just say YES to life. I have found the more I surrender the easier the experiences feel.
Value of the Experiences
Valuing each direct experience that you come across be it life challenges, nature, God and the Universe. Learn to receive help from others but always own your internal compass. We have a tendency to retreat when things get real tough, but I say rather than do that – reach out to others. We are all connected and others have experienced different life challenges and have worked through it – they may have vital information to learn from; or they may just have the vision we don’t when we are in the thick of it all. Value each and every experience you have tough or easy breezy.
This particular area is essential for peace. If the Universe is saying to you “jump” you need to be aware that it is time to jump! Even when we are scared it is best to jump and to work through it, rather than to retreat and prolong it. Those in this part of your spirituality may feel the pain of the process, this is when you will work through it. This is the time when challenges in life arrive, we acceptance it, working through it is all part of the learning and achieving. You will not feel like running from what faces you. You will deal with what comes, heal it and become stronger for it.
When you experience self awareness, no longer does the outside world discourage you. One no longer engages with outside negative influences and desires for acceptance. There is a knowing of what to heal, what to feel and how to express yourself doing it. Mindfulness and awareness of self is felt throughout your being. No longer will you feel the need to point fingers outside of yourself. There isn’t the need to blame others for the happens around you. There is a vision inward felt while going through life. One experiences life one day at a time and with self awareness. You become the creator of your own world.
This experience gives the ability to bounce back after difficult experiences and challenges. One stands tall here and stays strong regardless of what life hits them with. It’s a feeling of the “never give up” mind set. With each experience, it is a get up and keep going, they take note of the lessons and then are eager to share with others. A willingness to help others to avoid these experiences of what they have learnt.
The knowing that love is given to self with tenderness and compassion. Becoming nonjudgmental of themselves and others. Refraining from negative self talk. They know unique things and have irreplaceable knowledge. On the other side of the challenges they give off a sense of love to others and tenderness. What others feel is the mirror of their love.
Since experiences have occurred and surrendering with love and compassion; the thought of just what they have been through seems minimal. The action of self-love propels them into their own empowerment. Others feel this power with each interaction. No longer do they feel afraid of the “what if’s” and the “not again”. Boxing themselves in is no longer an option. Others feel their power and love.
This article has been written to be a helpful along resource along your journey’s beginnings or even when you are well on your way. Knowing that this journey is yours and it is designed for you specifically “like no other” will eventually give you great self strength. Don’t be discouraged when things don’t go your way or the way you thought they should be. That too may be part of the plan and part of the lesson. Remember surrender and flow through it with no judgment and no running. Take time to remember what you have been through, what you have learned, and where you are now. Be in the present with much love and compassion for whom you meet and all you do.
I wish you much love and light where ever you are in your journey.
